All You Need To Know About the alvarobautista.co.uk and batifans.com websites

This is, essentially, a completely unofficial, fan-created, fan-oriented site about the utterly fab Alvaro Bautista. We love Bati and we love MotoGP too, so it was inevitable we'd build this site sooner or later.
We have tried to keep a clean, cool, modern feel to the designs in terms of layout, colour-planning and typography, and have aimed for the best quality compression that we can so that you get the best quality desktops.
As well as the main pages of Alvaro Bautista news, info, wallpapers and downloads, there is also our great BatiFans.com fans forum where you can chat with other fans.
Submissions to have your own wallpapers and other graphic bits and pieces hosted here are welcome, and can be set in motion by writing to us or getting in touch via the forum.

Designing your desktops

The primary design rules adopted for this site's wallpapers try and balance the differing requirements of both Mac and PC desktop areas, with common UI principles.
The images are not "screen fillers" but are part of a design that occupies the entire desktop area whilst accommodating standard icon placements that the user is likely to be employing.
Apple computers (Mac OS 7 through 9 and OSX) default by ordering icons, from the HD onwards, down the right hand of the screen. PCs dress to the left. The Mac has the Menu Bar at the top of the screen, the PC has the Task Bar at the bottom.
Nonetheless it is possible to design wallpapers that work equally well for both platforms whilst using different kinds of layout and balance of form. They also attempt to deliberately leave open areas where new desktop items will accumulate.
If anything, the aim has been to lean towards meeting these requirements with a slight bias to PC users (let's face it, there's so many more of you...) although Macolytes should find that the designs still work perfectly well.

If you want to *use* one of our images for this purpose, then download it, host it yourself or on an image-hosting site and link to it from there. alvarobautista.co.uk / batifans.com is a non-commercial site and we cannot afford to waste money on huge amounts of bandwidth for things you could host for free. Please show some consideration and help us conserve our bandwidth. Hotlinking to us without permission is "Leeching" - plain and simple. Please don't do it.

3) Posting alvarobautista.co.uk / batifans.com images to forums
If you want to show one of our desktop wallpapers or other images on a forum as part of a topic (NOT a signature or avatar), you may link to that image on condition that you also credit alvarobautista.co.uk / batifans.com specifically and include a link to the site. We are able to track this kind of activity and will block the domains of leechers.

In principle, yes this is fine - we're glad you want to help share them with other fans.

Basically, this is a complete no-go. This website prides itself on being *by fans for fans* and carries a copyright notice on every single page stating that our artworks and designs are "Free for free distribution".
We strongly object to anybody profiting from our hard work or seeking to enrich themselves using it. We put a huge amount of time and effort into our Alvaro Bautista designs - and that's so they can be enjoyed by you, not sold on for somebody else's financial gain.
If you find items on the web (eBay for instance... prints, coasters, keyrings...) that are being sold which use our artwork , please email us.
We love sharing our work with fans - we despise lazy, greedy dirtbags making money from it.
