Álvaro to participate in charity football match in Madrid

December and especially the time around Christmas is traditionally the moment for many big charity events to take place and just as he’s done on many occasions before, Álvaro will again show his football skills to support a good cause.
This year he will join his friend Iker Casillas again to participate in a star-studded match of football at the Palacio de los Deportes in Madrid, the “Partido por la Ilusión 2011″ [roughly translated as "Match for Dreams"].
On December 28th Álvaro, Iker Casillas, several other athletes and famous stars from Spain like singer David Bustamante will play a friendly game against each other to raise funds which will all go to the charity foundations Exit and Tomillo which support employment for young adults.

Tickets for the event cost 15 Euros for adults and 10 Euros for children under 12 and can be ordered on the website of the Spanish football league. The game starts at 18.00 local time and will be shown live on the TV channel La Sexta.

In other news, Álvaro recently tweeted that he’s already had his stitches removed after being operated just last week and that his leg is doing very well. He’s back to regular training already and should be absolutely fit and ready for the new year.
